24 Mar TOUR: Desert Day Trip
First, call or email ahead and book a Sound Bath at the Integratron. The time of your session will determine how to route your itinerary for the day. This trip may warrant an overnight stay. You’ll not want to miss any of these fascinating, mysterious locations of greater Spiritual L.A. history:
A hippy, trippy, domed time machine.
2477 Belfield Blvd, Landers, CA 92285
Giant Rock
No longer accessible unless you have a 4-wheel drive. Do you?
Giant Rock, CA 92285
Joshua Tree Retreat Center and Institute of Mentalphysics
Vortex central.
59700 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA 92252
Desert Christ Park – Yucca Valley
A kitsch classic.
56200 Sunnyslope Dr, Yucca Valley, CA 92284
Joshua Tree Inn
Center of the Universe for the 1970s desert spiritual explosion. Many famous rock stars of the 60s lived and partied. Room #8 is where Gram Parsons, highly influential country rock musician, died and the room is rumored to be haunted.
61259 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA 92252
Cabot’s Pueblo Museum
67616 E Desert View Ave, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240
Pappy and Harriet’s
While not particularly spiritual per se, Pappy and Harriet’s is an in-the-know destination for a meal and/or drink due to, well, mostly due to the fact that it is out in the middle of nowhere. Impress your friends.
53688 Pioneertown Rd, Pioneertown, CA 92268
Desert Hot Springs
Also, before you return to LA, stop in for a relaxing soak at one of the many natural hot springs. The indigenous Cahuilla considered the springs to be sources of sacred power and used them for healing ceremonies. Perhaps you can create a healing ceremony of your own.
