The Integratron

A hippy, trippy, domed time machine constructed in the 1950s to promote longevity and interplanetary communication. The Integratron was built at the intersection of geomagnetic energy lines, designed with explicit instruction from ETs from Venus (which included building the wooden structure entirely without nails), and financed largely by Howard Hughes.

If that isn’t enough to warrant a visit, inside the dome is an acoustically perfect rotunda where the public can reserve Sound Bath sessions: Tibetan bowls are played and the sound resounding in the dome produces a profound state of relaxation, and it is said, healing.

The Integratron had fallen into disrepair until 2000, when it was purchased by the Karl sisters. Under their stewardship, it has been cleaned it up, opened to the public, begun offering Sound Baths, and is now available for event rentals. Think of it: you could lease it for a private party, invite your favorite DJ, all your friends, and rave to the Full Moon. Musicians of all types also come to record in the perfect acoustics.

Be sure to book ahead. If you show up at the gate without a reservation, you won’t be allowed to enter no matter how charming you are.
