Hi Catherine,
Of the natural remedies you mentioned none of those worked for me either but I have found a combo of natural supplements that put me out for a good 7 to 10 hours with no hangover...and no "knocking out" effect like drugs either...just a natural calming within about 1/2 hour of taking them ON AN EMPTY stomach...

this is my "magic" remedy. I take a compound formula of three amino acids with a few other nutrients added for maximum absorption called Travacor by Neuroscience. The three aminos in it are 5-HTP, Taurine and Theanine. I also take an extra Taurine 500 mg, and a theanine 60 mg.

I then also take 1000 mg of tart cherry extract. Tart cherry extract is a natural melatonin enhancer. It's made of cherries so it truly is natural and it's high in anitoxidants too. I didn't like melatonin--I found it disruptive..this is nice.

Magnesium taken at bedtime helps as well and most people are deficient in magnesium. It's especially calming if one is depleted.

Mag Citrate works fine for most people, though it can cause diarrhea in some and then you need to experiment with other forms if that is the case.

Oh and lastly...though I don't use this regularly...I never found GABA capsules helpful at all...BUT I discovered GABA sublingual tabs that actually do make a difference...it's absorbed through the skin and hits the blood stream that way and it was the first time I found GABA doing anything for me...

best to you!!
